Heeom is one of the newer members to Fate's Lament as she wasn't from the previous site of Hopeless Curse. She has easily established herself as a regular face in our little community, however. This girl is just amazing. She manages to put up with out general insanity and even if there isn't a reply for her to work on all the time, she sticks around. We're glad and extremely lucky to have her here.

FIGHTER

Shizuka Mori

Shizuki is definitely one of those people you can't help but want to hug, although she may punch you for it. She's been through so much in her life already and continues to deal with the emotional scars left behind as well as trying to control her womanizing sacrifice. Her own scars are hard to deal with, but as long as she and her sacrifice remain close...they just might be able to leave the past in the past where it can't do them harm.

SACRIFICE

Minoru Kawaguchi

Minoru is quickly becoming a favorite of many here. And how could he not be a favorite? He's adorable, wants nothing more than for his Fighter to be as he was before "The Doctor" came around and he truly matches his name of 'Lament.' Being locked up for most of your life is definitely something to lament over, right? He wants to help his other half no matter what, even if it means putting him through emotional turmoil to do so.

UNIT

Lament

The way the Lament unit interacts is something that not many of the other units can boast of. Yoshiro is like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde - and both love Minoru to the point of obsession. Minoru just wants Yoshiro and not "Doctor Demento" and will go to any length to try to help his Fighter. These two are definitely a unit to watch out for - or at least the Fighter is since he keeps his Sacrifice locked up.

Fate's Lament is a concept based off of the manga and anime series Loveless by Yun Kouga. The plot belongs to Risa. The skin and graphics were designed by Chama, with use of a lovely background from Kabegami E-Tank. Codes belong to their rightful owners, of course, and were all found on Proboards Support. The GIF affiliate banner is credited to Gemini. All images used are from Zerochan, with modifications as needed. And of course, all characters and writing are property of the players here.

Hair: His hair is a mess of greyish-lavender locks. Spikes stick out everywhere as if he just woke up, but he doesn’t mind the messiness. It looks good and that’s all he cares about. His bangs are parted slightly to his left so that the strands of hair do not get in his way when he is working, but he does keep a clip with him if his hair gets too annoying.
Eyes: His mint-green orbs are set with an almond shaped eye.
Outfit: He is usually seen wearing dress shirts and dress pants in a lazy manner. After all, he is still a teacher most of the time. In the classroom, he tries to keep a clean appearance in front of his students to assert his authority with everything buttoned up and a nice tie. However, outside the classroom, the top two buttons of his shirt is often unbuttoned, revealing a bit of skin while his tie is loose. When not at work, he prefers some casual, comfortable clothes

Personality: In his professional state, he is a no-nonsense, serious man. Being very analytical, he is often viewed as being too critical and pessimistic when he voices his criticism of ideas. In his opinion, one must always explore all the possible weaknesses and setbacks before taking action. Therefore, he is a guy that thinks before he acts, unlike most people. He can be very blunt when he wants to be. He will not hesitate to say that the dress a girl is wearing is the most hideous thing he has ever seen right in front of her face. He won’t be affected by pitiful tears of another, earning him quite a reputation for being cruel. Most of his students nurture a slight fear of him, which he takes great pride in. He prefers fear instead of adoration from others to maintain his power over others.

However there is a different, less terrifying side to him. He is a grown man with the tastes of a child. Among his friends and coworkers, he is known for having a huge sweet-tooth. It can be said that this is his ultimate weakness, as he can be bribed with cakes and such. Of course, he retains a line between his private and professional life. He wouldn’t let a student bribe him with sweets. He must retain the fear among his students after all. A more playful personality also exists despite his strict professional side. His bluntness contributes to a rampant teasing streak. He takes great pleasure in making others flustered and uncomfortable or even riling them up. He likes to annoy people, what can he say?
History: He was born into a lower middle-class family that consisted of a hardworking, loving mother, an older sister, and a recently “departed” father. His father had apparently died in a car accident before he was born. At least that’s what his mother had told him. He suspected that his father left the family. After all, they had never visited his “grave”. Nevertheless, he didn’t pry. He was better off not knowing the truth.

As a child, he was a total bookworm. While other children were still reading books with pictures, he was already on his way to reading short chapter books. He could read books for hours without stopping, too engrossed in his books to notice his surroundings. This was the beginning in the development of his studious character. Being a quiet child, his sister took a liking to teasing her younger brother creating the usual, playful sibling rivalry. Their mother usually arrived home to a squabble between the two, but since she always had some kind of sweet with her, their arguments often died instantly upon the sight of small cakes.

Things started to change at the start of his middle school years when he was 12 years old. His mother had fallen ill, enough to be hospitalized. It was discovered that she had cancer, which ruined her ability to work adequately for a steady income. Reita’s sister, who was 5 years older than him, started to change then, becoming more responsible and looking after him when their mom was hospitalized. She had gotten various part-time jobs in order to support the two of them and pay off their mother’s hospital bills. Though the sibling rivalry had toned down quite a bit, they still teased each other once in a while, trying to find some sort of normalcy. By his 13th birthday, his sister had graduated high school and went into working full-time to support his education.

Throughout his last years in middle school and early high school years, he was a target for bullies. Being such a silent yet intelligent student had its disadvantages as well. However, he was on the verge of snapping and that’s what happened one spring afternoon. He was cornered by a couple of delinquents who were threatening to beat him up, which they did until something in him snapped. A fury of emotions unleashed and before he knew it, his former bullies were laying on the ground, groaning in pain while his fists were clenched, bloody from abuse. Swirling around his left arm was his true name that softly glowed. It was the day he found his true name – corruption. Ever since that day, none of the bullies approached him again in fear of his wrath, which he found useful.

Not long after that, he was scouted by a Septimal Moon unit and brought to the Academy for education, where he found his fighter. He did not falter in his studies and always aced his exams. After graduating, he went on to follow the path of a teacher and returned several years later to be a teacher at the academy. Soon, he had also become one of the leaders of Septimal Moon, putting to use his critical analysis skills.

Oh, that’s right. Being Zeros, Akari couldn’t physically feel anything. Perhaps that may explain Arashi’s and her behavior. It was quite the disappointing side-effect of the project, but what’s done is done. It was only a minor disappointment anyways, compared to the benefits. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes when Akari stated that their sex life was more interesting. He internally smirked. Of course it was. Sakurai was an excellent lover and partner. He never disappointed him. However, he couldn’t help but feel a bit offended in a way about it being predictable. He would like to say it was very exciting, but of course, not aloud. He didn’t want to fuel Akari’s remarks. He only drank more of his ridiculously sweet coffee.

"We're going on a hunt tonight. We've got a couple targets in mind. Maybe some stalking of a few people..."

He can’t say that he didn’t feel a bit sorry for the ones that the Zero unit was going to stalk and bother. The pair was really ruthless when it came to embarrassing the other unit or breaking their confidence. However, as long as they were far away from him, he didn’t really care what they did.

"Mhmn...speaking of pathetic...the Conviction unit filled out a report awhile back about a Hopeless Curse unit they encountered. You should read it when you have the time, Rei. I'm sure you'll get a real kick out of it."

On the other hand, he didn’t give a bat of his eye for any Hopeless Curse unit. The Zero unit could break their minds as much as they like. They deserved it for being as so much to associate with such an embarrassment of a school. “Oh? I’m sure there’s something interesting about this encounter then?”

His eyes carefully watched Akari strode over next to him to make a cup of coffee for herself. More caffeine for her already hyper self was probably not a good idea but he wasn’t going to lecture her like a parent. He shivered. Being Akari’s parent would just be giving himself a death wish.

“The hell are you so skinny?" He chose not to answer and give her another topic to annoy him with. In all honesty, he had no clue either. He did go to his doctor regularly to keep his health in check, but nothing ever came up in his visits. It was just then, in the middle of his thoughts, that he felt a warm something being placed on his rear and then a quick squeeze where no one but his Fighter (and some molesters on the train…) touched. He promptly choked on the coffee that he was in the middle of drinking and quickly turned around to see a retreating Akari. Did…she just grab his ass? He was suspicious, but even then, he didn’t expect her to do something so daring. He fought to clear his throat, coughing a bit more before calming down and settled for a glare.

"Akari, please refrain from inappropriate conduct. Especially with your teachers."

Oh no, not even that. He was violated. As serious as it sounded, it was true and he was at the end of his patience. Calmly moving towards, Akari, his glare intensified in annoyance and anger. “That was the last straw! Kiyoushi-san, you are banned from hunting with your Fighter until further notice. Until your punishment is lifted, the sacrifice of Zero Beta will take over for now. ” Of course, he could’ve said that the upcoming Gamma sacrifice would take over, but she didn’t need to know that yet. That sacrifice was at his last stage of the experimentation. It would only be a matter of time before the Gamma sacrifice could be deployed. After all, Beta was mostly used for defensive purposes.
