Of course, Aless still saw Lanza as that bleeding little girl he'd found in the street. He would never be able to forget that the Corvi's had left one of their own, a child at that, to bleed out instead of taking her with him. Alessnadro, while he was licensed as a medical doctor - rarely worked within the medical field. Being the one closest to the girl at the time, he had been the one to perform initial checks and had to stabilize the girl until his own trauma doctors could have gotten to her. His own men had been injured as well and it would have been awhile before they could have gotten to her.
Just as Lanza was that same injured girl, Sheeka was the same abused little street urchin he had taken into his home. His protective attitudes over the two would never change. Granted, he was a bit more over protective of Lanza than he was Sheeka...but Lanza was his little girl. She'd been five or six when he'd taken her in, and Sheeka had been nearly a teenager. Of course, he'd found it hard to believe that Sheeka was the age he'd said he was when he'd picked him up. He had thought Sheeka was younger than that...but granted, he was far from being the size a boy his age should be.
As Lanza mentioned that his playing hooky was like a vacation...or taking a vacation was just him playing hooky, Aless couldn't help but laugh lightly at that. "Vacation is vacation. Hooky is completely different - if I was on vacation it would mean I wouldn't have to be playing hooky. Besides vacations involve family time and beaches and cozy hotel rooms. Hooky involves hiding and pretending that I'm a ninja. Pretend because it's really hard to hide from Celino...he knows all my tricks by now. I should learn some new ones to avoid work..." he mused lightly, thinking about what he could add to his arsenal of work avoidance. Usually though, he would just be found taking a cat nap somewhere he wouldn't be disturbed.
He'd caught his blunder right after he'd said something and he regretted saying anything. In the legal work, patient confidentiality was a huge thing. Doctors weren't allowed to reveal anything about a patient without their person. It was a bit different in the mafia world. If the doctor in question was tied directly to the Riva family - he did have outside doctors who preferred to stay out of the mafia or were just normal civilian doctors - then if their boss wanted information they'd give it. Any little bit of information could save their lives or anything withheld information could be potentially dangerous. Lanza quickly provided a legitimate explanation on the matter. "You'd be amazed at where just a simple paper trail can lead," Alessandro added casually. "I do most of my own finances," of course, he did have accountants but he was always the first and the last to go over everything. His accountants would double-check his work and then he'd double-check them. "I respect the fact that there is doctor-patient confidentiality, but there are some things that can't be really kept confidential when it comes to doing payroll and certain things like that." He respected it in the sense that he wouldn't want his own medical history being disclosed to anybody besides himself and people he named could know. The list for that was limited to him and Celino. "I wouldn't want my medical needs out for the world to see," considering he had quite a bit of a medical file on him being in the mafia. He'd been injured here and there, of course, none of it had been as bad as when Celino had rescued him from a continued torment that file alone was a big one. Various tests and whatnot to make sure he'd been completely okay after that ordeal. There was a psychologist in there, somewhere too.
Alessandro stretched his limbs casually. "I'll probably drink that cup and tea and take my leave afterwards...I have work to do. Work to avoid...the usual. I should also check on Sheeka and Shiru - they had dinner after that whole thing at Sheeka's apartment...I want Luca-chan to tell me how that went..." he stated rather cheerfully. Luca was a bit hard to get information from, especially concerning Sheeka's relationship with Shiru. He'd get it though, somehow. Alessandro was persistent...he was just a father who wanted to make sure his boy was getting along with his future daughter-in-law, especially after finding out about the mafia, after all.
