His sensors indicated that it was a cold day out, but it was nothing he wouldn't be able to handle. He wandered along, looking around. It wasn't often that he was allowed to wander around outside the labs, but it seemed as though the organization's scientists were satisfied with his current fine-tunings, and had decided to let the creation roam free... within the compound, at least. Glancing around, he spotted a dry fountain, which was drained in preparation for the coming winter, and the bare beds that would house numerous flowers come the spring. To add to the desolate surroundings of the courtyard, it was completely devoid of activity. It showed almost no signs of life, except for a few trees that somehow managed to hold onto a few leaves, but for how long, he wondered. Approaching one such tree, Texi stared up at its few leaves as one fell, lightly drifting down into the robot's hand. He stared down at the leaf curiously before he let it drop, joining the rest on the ground. It really did look dreary in the courtyard, but almost in a sleepy sort of way, he supposed. After all, if his data proved accurate, it would spring back to life as soon as spring arrived. He would have to witness this for himself, he decided, and then he sat down under the tree to watch the clouds drift by, analyzing the shapes. It wasn't as if he had anything better to do, and it wasn't as if there was anyone around to interact with, either. Who knew that a robot such as him could get bored?[/style] |
